The Department of Cinema and Comparative Literature at The University
of Iowa invites applications for a non-tenure-track visiting assistant
professor position for 2007-08, renewable for 2008-09 pending a
positive teaching review, with specialized competence in narrative
and/or experimental film and video-making. Teaching load is two
courses per semester.

Our ideal candidate has several years? experience creating her or his
own films and working with undergraduates. Candidates will teach video
and filmmaking courses to intermediate/advanced undergraduates; they
will also teach graduate students in our Film and Video Production MFA
Program. Pre-requisites include: (1) MFA or equivalent
professional/academic experience; (2) a record of artistic
accomplishment in film and video; (3) a record of successful
teaching; (4) teaching competence in Apple Final Cut Pro, video
production, and 16mm film production; (5) general teaching competence
in all modes of film and video production.

personal creative work; (3) a statement of teaching philosophy; and
(4) a sample of creative work, preferably on DVD; and (5) contact
