Scott,

Some examples from different times and places that experiment with
the concept of "personal," and do so with attention to questions of
form in interesting ways:

LOST LOST LOST, Jonas Mekas
SPEAKING DIRECTLY, Jon Jost
NEWS FROM HOME, Chantal Akerman
AFRIQUE, JE TE PLUMERAI, Jean Marie Teno
ICI ET AILLEURS, Jean Luc Godard et al.
BLUE, Derek Jarman
OKAY BYE BYE, Rebecca Baron
WHAT FAROCKI TAUGHT, Jill Godmilow
THE GLEANERS AND I, Agnes Varda
MEET YOU MORE THAN HALFWAY, Sara Takahashi

A few of those might be available at Donnell and the Jarman and Varda
are, I think, on Netflix.
