Frameworkers,
I need your help in assembling a list of American films in which collective issues and struggles are presented as, or in the context of, personal individual problems, and are "resolved" on the individual psychological or emotional level rather than on the collective political level. Of course that's 99.9 percent of all American films, but I'm looking for particularly beloved examples like "Casablanca," in any genre and from any time period up to the present. Recommendations of literature on the subject will also be greatly appreciated.
