Are these rhetorical questions? If not, the answer is yes, she should be
famous. She's not (and that's OK) but it doesn't change her films or how
they have affected some people. See Brakhage's take on her mobile camera
in "Film at Wit's End." She was a major force.

Answer to the second question - no, never.
