ok first thanks to everybody for their help and advice on this one.
i brought the bullet and got a new macbook... (in Homer voice:
mmmmm....new macbook..... ) we dismantled the old one and took it to
pieces, basically the motherboard was dead...we managed to take out the
harddrive, and this still works, and i've mounted it in a remote driver
and am slowly extracting data...
if anybody wants to know HOW to dismantale a maclap book remember to buy a
2mm allan key first.
will now try experiments with the old one and see if i can get the screen
to do anything funny like melt or something...
