This makes me think of video artist Les Levine's theory of the hypnotic
quality of the 1 - 2- 3 rhythm of TV editing ( Wide shot - medium shot -
close up - WS - MS - CU). I don't know the name of the essay or interview
with him where I read it but it was very interesting. You should definitely
check out other early video artists theories on TV.
