hey framworkers, i'm passing this along from a fellow filmmaker at wit's end. perhaps someone can help him? thanks...

I'll be brief... I'm converting Hi8 to digital.

(1)I'm trying to preserve a color space of 4:2:2 in the conversion.
Is this possible (or necessary)? How? (FYI...I think this will
matter if the converted video is projected onto a large screen.)

(2) I need to use a time based corrector in this transfer. Shall I
buy a basic TBC? ( see this link: http://www.4videoequipment.com/
video/store2/Scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=35&E=DataVideo-TBC-1000
+Single+Channel+Stand+Alone+-+Time+Based+Corrector+(Sync+Corrector)

   Or a Canopus ADVC-110? ( http://www.4videoequipment.com/video/
store2/scripts/prodView.asp?f=fgle&idproduct=1321)

I'm obviously in need of a Master - Geek.

Ron
