Re: B/W processing and printing (follow-up with rates)

i know a little bit about cine lab's b&w neg processing cause i work there

as for rates...the 35 cents a foot price is actually for process and a TIMED
print... you can have an overall best light print for the 30 cent rate. the
turn around time is about 3 days to be on the safe side... we process one
day and print the next. all b&w neg dailies are handled by bill chandler
(the elder...yes there are two bill chandlers who work there) and any more
detailed tech questions can be directed to him...he's email suppressed but
it's probabally better to just give a call (508-672-1204) and talk to him in
person - it's a small lab and everything seems to work out better when
there's a direct relationship with customers. (if you call and a woman
answers...it's probabally me - so say hi!...though i'm taking some time off
this summer)

daily prints are struck on a b&h model c.. but there's also a wet gate
printer that we use for answer printing.

even though i work there and obviously have a vested interest...i feel like
i can be objective about what things the lab does and doesn't do well....and
i'd say that both color and b&w negative process and print dailies are
things that cine does pretty solidly and can be relied upon for.
