Center for Visual Music presents two programs at the upcoming Rotterdam International Film Festival
(Jan 25-Feb 5, Netherlands):

(1) Jordan Belson: Epilogue and Other Films - Jan 27 and 29

featuring the European premiere of Belson's new videofilm, Epilogue (2005), plus Allures, Samadhi, Music of the Spheres, Northern Lights and Mysterious Journey Part IV. Epilogue was commissioned by The Hirshhorn Museum (Smithsonian Institution) for the recent US "Visual Music" exhibition. The film was produced by Center for Visual Music, with support from The NASA Art Program. A pure Visual Music experience, Belson has distilled 60 years of visionary sound and images into this 12 minute videofilm, synchronized to a symphonic tone poem "Isle of the Dead Opus 29" by Sergei Rachmaninoff. The New York Times praised Epilogue's "lush and misty optics." Program introduced by Cindy Keefer, Director, CVM.

Program formats: 16mm and digital

(2) Legendary Light Shows - Jan 27 and 29. Screening in the "White Light" programme section at IFFR

A flashback to the 1960’s with a program of rarely seen film and video by legendary light show artists from San Francisco, New York, Los Angeles and London: Glenn McKay, Tony Martin, Elias Romero, Mark Boyle and Joan Hills, Joshua White, Single Wing Turquoise Bird and Jud Yalkut, plus the light show finale excerpt from David Lebrun's "Hog Farm Movie." Featuring light, color and liquid projections layered with film and handmade slides, originally performed live at rock concerts. Selections from this program were featured in the recent US exhibition "Visual Music" at the Hirshhorn Museum.

Program formats: 16mm and digital
