Probably not to safely predict unless one knows about the machine
involved, the type of checkpoint, etc. Many times, I've had to
subject miniDV tapes, CF and hard drives without event. For a few,
small, items like DV tapes and CF chips, if you carry them in your
pocket or hand right up to the walk-through metal detector, the
attendant will often put them in the small tray with your car keys
etc. and pass them around. Can only be a handful of readily
recognized items though. Rob D.
