For the survivors of hippiedom support group:
My parents were also hippies, down in Santa Cruz, CA. But by the time 1969
rolled around they already had 6 kids, so as my mom said "We were
responsible hippies who had to get up in the morning." Sure we'd travel
around a live in a tipi during the summer months, but they always made sure
we were back in time for school to start.
I probably know more about the 70's phenomenon of Travelling Van Culture
than anyone my age. Also saw Johnny Winter play 3 times before I was 5.
It could be pretty scary at times as a child, but boy, do I love my parents
for it all though. jennifer
