There is a really peculiar aura of unreality in this thread.
Why would anyone want to pay to put an "ad" on a DVD. With print
publications or broadcast radio and tv you have to see the ads/
commercials even if you don't attend to them. With theatrical films,
if you arrive "on time" you have to sit through commercials and
trailers.
But typically the way DVDs are indexed and presented, you don't have
to watch any ads that are stuck in, unless the menu has been preset
to force you to watch the FBI warning, and promo material before
getting to the menu. I just can't imagine why any advertiser would
think that putting an ad on an art video DVD would make any economic
sense.
Hmm..."By Brakhage" brought to you by Bud Light, or Subaru, or Camels?
Hmm..."Dog Star Man" sponsored by an SUV that will let you climb that
mountain in style?
"Ten Seconds in Montreal" brought to you by the Montreal Tourist Board?
