Hey Frameworks,
I'm curating a screening series and am trying to find examples of the influence of comic books and comic book aesthetics on avant-garde or digital avant garde films. By aesthetics, I mean telling stories through frames, spatializing time, the word balloon, etc. Some examples I have of more recent work is the MadVillan "ALLCAPS!" video and the LCD SoundSystems "Trembulation" video, I saw there was a thread on this a couple of years ago, and have gotten some good names off of that, but was wondering if anyone knew of any other examples. Also, any filmmakers who have sighted comic books as strong influences on their work. Newer stuff would also be great.
