Steven,
Don't miss it. Stan Brakhage called Peter Kubelka, "the world's greatest
filmmaker." I tend to think Stan Brakhage is right.

He's coming in October to Berkeley to lecture and show a few of his films
(including poetry and truth). I'll have to check that out for sure.

Steven,
I would say the last one to make a "movement mentality" AG film was
Peter Kubelka. Peter Kubelka made "Pause" in 1976. I know of nothing else
after that. I seriously doubt if there is anything. Except perhaps maybe his
new film, "Poetry and Truth" I haven't yet seen it.

It was a real "movement." And it was oppositional.
Thanks Fred C. Helpful information.

I'm curious about this... do you have an idea of when the "movement"
mentality begins to crumble in AG cinema and how we wind up in this
fractured place we are now?
