Or perhaps not. Think about multiple-projector pieces for film loops
where the drift of the projectors against each other is the point
(hey, I did one of those), or the Phil Hoffman piece (forgotten the
title) where the audience chooses some subset of reels from a table
before the screening, or films with sound on tape where the synch is
different every time, the radio in _Blonde Cobra_ ...

Re the heads: Soon3 did a lot of this sort of thing back in the early
80s, projecting film on variously-shaped props scattered around the
stage.
