I second Sam's suggestions. I have both a Sekonic 318 (which reads down to
f0.5 on the scale), and a Minolta VF. Both work equally as well with the
Sekonic being the cheaper of the two (about $150-175 new).

Minolta makes a good spot meter that can be found for $200-300 used. Can't
remember the exact model number. It's black and has yellow buttons....that
probably helps a whole lot but maybe someone else will jump in and name
the thing. Now I'm using a Pentax Digital Spot. Can be found for the same
price as the Minolta though I've seen them for less.

If you buy off eBay consider getting the meter calibrated or at the very
least checking the meter against one you know to be accurate.

Combo meters are nice but the ones I looked at were $500-600 and climbed
$$$ from there.

Good luck in your search.
