The first suggestion is to not do titles in FCP. FCP is a terrible
title generator. If you have illustrator and after effects you have a
great way to create hi-res titles.
Second suggestion is a question. Are you looking at the titles on an
NTSC monitor, or on your computer monitor? On a computer monitor the
titles look soft because FCP only shows you 1/2 of your fields. Output
your titles and play them back on an NTSC monitor to see what you are
really getting.
Third, do not scale or do any motion with FCP titles. Also putting
titles over de-interlaced video may cause problemes.
Fourth, make sure your sequence setting are what they should be and
make sure that everything is fully rendered at the correct resoultion,
frame rate and quality.
