I appreciate hearing the different responses to my query; I hadn't been
considering the more selfless motivations for including one's own work or
how this practice may reflect the unique characteristics of the particular
community, collaborations, film centres, etc. I was originally thinking
more along the lines of el ray's example where the curator organizes a
juried show and posits oneself into; this still seems rather dubious.
