Thanks all for your responses to my query about mirrors. Here's another:
Can anyone recommend a critique (or "deconstruction") of the Academy Awards as a propaganda institution?
I'm not necessarily looking for particular examples or cases. I want a systemic global analysis of the Awards as an ideological instrument of socialization and social control.
Such a critique would include examples, of course, but would establish a larger context for understanding them.
