though more technical than inspirational....

I have found these books useful, and have wondered to
what extent they may have been used in classes in the
late-1960s and early 1970s:

Basic Motion Picture Technology (1971, Focal Press)
- L. Bernard Happe

The Technique of Editing 16mm Films (first published
in 1968, Focal Press)
- John Burder

Happe also later published Your Film and The Lab
(1974, Focal Press).
