Legendary film scholar, filmmaker, and producer Cecile Starr offers a master
class chronicling the many accomplishments of courageous and innovative
women filmmakers and animators who have worked in and around New York City
since the early 1900's. Films to be screened include: "Matrimony's Speed
Limit" (Alice Guy-Blaché,), "Dada" (Mary Ellen Bute); "In the Street" (Helen
Levitt); "Alexeieff at the Pinboard" (Claire Parker); "Permanent Wave"
(Anita Thatcher); "Tub Film" (Mary Beams); and "The Doodlers" (Katy Rose).
