You're probably right about the lack of communication, and I'm sorry for my
role in that. Since my post Ed and Konrad have more articulately and more
directly alluded to what I was trying to observe about certain threads on
Frameworks like, um, ours. I'll let you decide if they were also imposing
fictions on what they have read over the years.

I'm completely pro-scapegoating, of course. Who isn't?

But...

...To the degree that I was attempting (perhaps not very clearly) to
implicate myself as part of the Frameworks problem (I mentioned I directly
or indirectly participated in some of those threads) I'm not sure if I was
scapegoating myself. To the degree that I was trying to draw a parallel
between things I do not immediately see/understand in these threads
(including this one, as Ed and Konrad have gently reminded us) and what the
EC committee might not have been thinking about in their selection process,
I'm not sure if drawing parallels between yourself and others in an attempt
at understanding constitutes scapegoating.

If you think I failed in these two attempts, then please tell me and I will
let that be the last word on the matter.
