Thought there may be a few out there who may be interested in this.
I'm not involved in this project, but I have worked with Joan Schuman in the
past and it has always been a pleasure.

ENTER THE SOUND LOUNGE

DCA/Dinnerware Gallery invites artists to submit work in which sound
plays an exclusive role. We're looking for work that is structured
entirely around narrative elements including voice, ambient sounds,
metaphoric auralities and storytelling. The sound piece can be a
stand-alone work or may be part of a multi-media presentation-video,
installation, sound sculpture, narrative radio broadcast,
site-specific sound art, sound-text, etc. However, we're considering
only the sound portion for our exhibit.

Short works (1 to 10 minutes) exploring any theme will be experienced
via headphones in the Sound Lounge during a three-week installation
in the gallery space, March 20 through April 10. The installation of
audio works will follow the opening-night performance of The Taboo
Box, a sound work produced by audio artist and radio producer Joan
Schuman, curator of the Sound Lounge. The Taboo Box investigates
women's dream narratives and weaves them together with a story of
betrayal and kinetic sounds of boxed entrapment. After the March 20
performance, Taboo Box will join the selected works inside the Sound
Lounge.

Submit your work on audio CD only along with an artist bio (100
words) and description of the work (150 words) by Friday, Feb. 20, at
5 p.m. Return of materials will be mailed if accompanied by SASE with
sufficient postage. There is no entry fee. No artist fee will be paid
if your work is chosen. Feel free to send us previously aired or
installed work, excerpts of longer material (as long as it is a
cohesive work) or newly created or in-progress audio experiments.

Send work to Lucinda Young at:
