DAVID WHITE: FILMS 1973 - 1986
All films 16mm, introduced by David White, 2 hours.
RBMC is proud to welcome David White to NYC and host the first East Coast
retrospective of his films.
During two recent group shows at Beck and BAM, White's films stood out and
attracted the most interest
from audiences. White's ouvere is filled with experimental narratives
(DOMESTIC TRANQUILITY), mixed
original and found footage films (the Zapruder film redux ELM STREET and
holiday season nightmare
BLUE CHRISTMAS), exquisite portraits of place (MEET ME TONIGHT IN DREAMLAND)
and pseudo-documentary insanity (FUN AT THE CLOWN SCHOOL. A great show sure
to find David a place
in all our hearts. Films include: SUMMERTIME, ROOM, LAUGHS, 'SNO DANCE,
"8", BLONDE PIANO,
GOAT HEAVEN, RED AFTRICA, ESSENCE and MOON.

Brian Dewan Performance
Brian Dewan performs his subversively hilarious and satyrically macabre
I-Can-See Filmstrips, (advanced by hand, frame-by-frame) and his live
musical accompaniment to silent film gems.
The accordion-autoharp-theremin-playing Dewan creates and builds his own
instruments, including the electric zither. He has two CDs (Brian Dewan
Tells the Story and The Operating Theater) of music that's been described as
a cross between Burl Ives, Charles Addams and Edgar Allen Poe. His work has
been featured in and he's written for Cabinet, he's played autoharp for
Laura Cantrell, accordion for Drink Me, is an integral part of the Raymond
Scott Orchestrette, and has written music for Sesame Street. Don't miss this
unique performance!
