misunderstood) as "absolutely retarded" ?

It is something you can do yourself, but negative is especially tricky
as Fred points out, ANY dust dirt will print as white, you must have
the cleanest environment possible. Plus, if you make a mistake it's a
much bigger problem with neg than with reversal.

You must do A&B rolls for contact printing with negative, the one black
frame trick won't work here, it would print white

I would get a good book on this, I'm not really familiar with the one
mentioned; Kris Malkewicz' (sp ) book had a good chapter I lent to
someone who was going to do this for the first time (I think she kept
the book, I don't seem to have it here...)

This will tell you how to break down your uncut negative, how to
conform, etc.

Then practice practice practice first.
