oh in this brand new spanking new year which i hope to be more anarchistic
and expansive and less hierarchical than the last, i find this question of
the perfect film odd. it is neither what i'm looking to make, nor what i'm
looking to see. and what is that? of course hard to say, but having
something to do with fire for fire.
here, today, that is to say conditionally, i would refer to sei shonagon by
way of chris marker's sans soleil (an imperfect film if there ever was one,
but a marvelous one nonetheless) that i am looking for
things that quicken the heart.
