> What would constitute a "perfect" (any definition) film/video?

Ken Jacobs defined his "Perfect Film" (its title is that) by just
choosing it. It was found, a Readymade, according to the lore,
in a dumpster of a New York TV newstation, and consists of
fragments of a report on the assassination of Malcolm X. It's a
paradoxical idea of "perfect" being a significant displacement of
authorship away from identity, and a sense of the inscrutability
of existance -- not that dumpster diving gets you there
particularly. The film remains as brilliant as the gesture was.
