The School of Communication and Multimedia Studies in the Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters at Florida Atlantic University invites applications for one tenure-track assistant professor in digital media production to begin August 2025. The primary location is the Ft. Lauderdale campus, with occasional travel to the Boca Raton campus. Ideal candidates should have research and teaching strengths in either of the following areas of Digital Cinema and Filmmaking: Visualization, Storyboarding, Compositing, Digital filmmaking, Sound design, Digital post-production and Digital film production and Videogame and Interactive Design: Game design, 3D environments, Character design, Modeling, texturing, rigging, Extended Realities (VR, AR, MR), Game engines (e.g., Unreal, Unity), Interactivity involving machine learning, AI, and related technologies.
